Moses Ting's inspiration and design notebook.
Here’s an awesome 4-step design process that lets you set yourself up for futuristic spontaneous ideas. It’s picked out of Stefan Sagmeister’s Made You Look,
- Think about the project from any point of view — your mom’s, yours, from the point of view of color, or form—and write each response down on a single index card.
- Spread all the index cards out on a big table and see if you can find the relationship between the different thoughts.
- Forget about the whole thing.
- The idea will strike you miraculously when you least expect it.
It’s based off of the 1930’s manual A Technique for Producing Ideas. I must say, I’m a big fan of #3 because it’s come through for me time after time. Sometimes it’s about stepping away. I just never knew it was officially part of a 4-step process. Awesome.
