There’s an analogy that I always love to use whenever I’m dealing with a situation on whether I should do something or not. If it’s something I’m interested in and something I really want, it’s always best to go for it.
The analogy is deciding on whether to ask a girl out or not. Fellas, you know what I’m talking about. (Sorry to the female readers out there, as I can only provide the male-aspect side of things.) You know a pretty/interesting/funny/cute/hot/exciting girl, and you sort of want to ask her out. But you’re afraid that she’ll say no. When I used to be single, I always went for it. I’d rather ask and see what happens, then stay quiet and do nothing about it. Because in the end, I know I will be better off. If she says no, then I’m pretty much back to where I was originally. No harm done. But if she says yes, then I just got myself a (potentially) pretty good date. That’s how I got my fiance! I called her and said I’d like to get to know her better, and the rest is history.
So to you out there, take a risk. Ask for it, and don’t worry about the outcome. The lesson is in the fact that you’re taking a chance, and giving it a shot. Why not?
