The book I’m plowing through on my daily train rides is Greg Mortenson’s Stones into Schools, which is a followup to the amazing bestseller Three Cups of Tea. I’m only 30 pages into the book and I’ve already found some amazing ideas and quotes. The things that this guy and his Central Asia Institute are doing are quite simply amazing and inspiring.

As a (former) engineer and designer, I solve a lot of problems. Whenever I’m given a new problem that I think is difficult to solve, I would feel a slight sense of fear. This has happened quite a few times in my career. Looking back, these fears I’ve felt were caused by the fact that I didn’t really understand the problem or the task at hand.
